#1 Morgan Goodrich (2022, OF/2B) returns for her 8th season on the St Louis Heat! Morgan is a versatile fielder – after playing middle infield for most of her softball career, she moved to the outfield where she earned All-Region honors as a freshman & sophomore, and 2nd Team All-State honors as a junior. She was also named the Conference Newcomer of the Year in the St Louis Suburban Yellow Conference as a freshman and had the highest batting average in the conference as a sophomore (.512) and the highest batting average in the entire Metropolitan St Louis area as a junior (.722). She also led the area in OBP as a junior (.778) and was 5th in SLG (1.111).
The Heat’s longtime leadoff hitter, Morgan is an excellent slapper and can also hit for power. Her outstanding speed (2.8s home to 1st) and agility not only make her a great base runner, but also allow her to cover a lot of ground in the outfield.
Morgan is a focused competitor who rarely makes mental mistakes and is a natural leader. She is also a standout soccer player and 2021 State Cup Champion with St Louis Scott Gallagher’s ’03 ECNL-RL team. Morgan is interested in pursuing a degree in interior design or business.
